History of Raozan

Brief History of Raozan   

• Now a days as know of Raozan is, to the west `Sarta` and Halda river,to the east hills of Rangamati ,to the north Fatikchari and to the south Karnafuly river.But before Seventeenth century , Raozan was part of Hathazari thana.In Company period from june 1772 to july 1773,Chittagong ruled by 7th Charls Bently who divided Chittagong by nine `Chakla`,one was `Nowapara`.In 1860 the British government formed a new thana (east side`s of old Hathazari and south side of Nowapara `chakla`) by the name of Raozan.

Great poet Nabin Chandra Sen -

                                                He born in  Nowapara in 10th February of 1847.Father was Gopi Mohan Rai and mother was Rajeshari. He was popular poet of `combined Bangla` during 2nd period of 19th century He passed the Entrance exam. in 1863. In 1865 he passed F.A from arts from Presedency college .
